The very Beginning!

I have loved crafts and needlework since I was a little girl. So much so that in school, I used to look forward to Needlework classes and Craft classes that many of my classmates despised. I would  finish off my Needlework/craft for the year within the first few months and spend the rest of the year taking off stitches and redoing it again to keep in pace with my disinterested classmates, or helping my friends finish their needlework. This world - the world of thread and needles, of colored craft paper and scissors - held immense possibilities and fascination for me. I cannot put into words the satisfaction I got on looking at a finished piece of embroidery, or a painting or a bunch of roses made of satin ribbon or crepe paper. School holidays for me were for stitching, painting, or making something new. Along the way, I  have picked up and tried my hand at different things - embroidery, fabric painting, stitching, flower making, cooking - yes, for me, cooking is also a craft by itself, I believe that the taste of food is much enhanced by its presentation, soft toy making, knitting, crocheting, jewelry making, cross stitching... I chose a profession that had little to do with thread and color paper, but I make sure that I have at least one project in hand that has to do with needlework or crafts - something to go home to everyday and spend my leisure time with. If I do not, I feel that I miss something in my life. Every piece I make holds a special place in my heart, especially embroidery - because I spend time and share my thoughts with each stitch. Of late, I have been more into cross stitching and jewlery making. Today, I still stare with wide eyed wonder at this colorful world - thread, crape paper, beads, fabric, paints, and all the rustles and jingles associated with it.  This blog is my birthday gift to myself, created to share my biggest passion.
